The Art of Rest: Restorative Workshop

  • Wellness@Eight 8 Westcroft Parade, Station Road Hampshire United Kingdom (map)

We are excited to host Mångata Yoga at Wellness@Eight. This event will be led by Laura Higgs-White, practitioner in Restorative Yoga, who will provide a 90 minute exploration into rest.

Discover how to rest better and tune into the body's innate recovery system. During the workshop we will work on the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PSNS) through the use of Restorative Yoga, breathwork and meditation to soothe stress and tension from the body.

Coming into our recovery state or Rest and Digest state is what enables us to lower the heart rate, reduce blood pressure and bring the body back into equilibrium.

As we know unresolved stress over a prolonged period of time can lead to dis-ease in the body and often presents us with unwanted aches and pains.

Come and nurture your body with the use of supported Asanas (physical postures), encouraging the body to move towards its natural ability to balance and recover (homeostasis). Shift the focus inwards, otherwise known as the process of pratyahara, using various breathwork techniques and switch over to that recovery state.

We will finish up the morning with a cup of Nia Botanica tea and reintegrate before heading back out.

All bolsters, blankets and props will be provided. You simply need to bring yourself and something warm and comfortable to wear.

Duration: 90 mins
Price: £25.00
